The Paramedic
at Water Rescue

Paramedic at Water Rescue

For many years, it has no longer been sufficient in the water rescue service and for watch duties at bodies of water to deploy only helpers with just first aid and rescue swimming training. Already during transport, during rescue or in the waiting phase until the land or air rescue service arrives, the first medical measures are frequently carried out by Water Rescue helpers, bridging the time until the land rescue service arrives.
To provide effective help, the paramedic course has been part of the basic training at Wasserwacht Unterhaching for many years.

Paramedic Course

The paramedic course includes both theoretical training and practical components where aspiring paramedics put theory into practice and learn to handle the equipment. The aim is to prepare aspiring paramedics for practice and give them the knowledge needed to effectively help patients.
After training, medical knowledge is consolidated and deepened through regular training sessions and continuing education within the local group. Instructors, physicians and specialist speakers train paramedics and rescue personnel during weekly training.
