The First Aider
at Water Rescue

First Aid Banner

First aiders at Water Rescue are rescue swimmers with a first aid course. They have learned measures for initial treatment of vitally affected persons in a first aid course. With the acquired knowledge, they are well equipped for almost all emergencies that can occur at any time in private and professional settings. The first aid course largely covers emergencies in the area of breathing and circulation. The treatment of injuries, burns, shock conditions as well as correct measures for poisoning are also taught. This enables first aiders to support paramedics and water rescuers.
Within Water Rescue, the first aid course is one of the first training programmes completed even before the first rescue swimming badge. However, it represents only a foundation that is expanded through the paramedic course and other medical training during the course of qualification.

First Aid Courses

The Munich Water Rescue groups do not offer first aid courses themselves. These are conducted by the BRK District Association training department in Munich. Further information and course dates can be found at: BRK First Aid Courses Munich.
